Since we first opened on Cherry Street in downtown Toledo and long after we moved to our current home on Secor Road in West Toledo, Reger’s has been known for our tireless dedication to the needs of Christians and churches of northwest Ohio.
Our history of personal service started in 1921 when John A. Reger founded the John A. Reger Company and opened our first store. His son, Joseph Reger, assumed ownership of the company in 1945. And, on the heels of World War II, Joseph’s brothers soon joined him in running the business when they returned from serving in the military.
Together, the Reger brothers grew the company and established a second store in 1950 on Madison Avenue. The new decade also saw the beginning of what is now a company tradition: the annual Reger’s Catalog.
The following years brought further changes. Our Cherry Street store was relocated to Erie Street in 1967, and became a familiar downtown landmark. The Madison Avenue location closed its doors in the early 1980s as we centralized our services on Erie. It was from that location, in the heart of downtown Toledo, that Reger’s continued to serve faithful customers for many years.
In 1997, we opened the doors to our current location at 4100 Secor Road, just north of Sylvania Avenue, across from St. Anne Mercy Hospital, in the heart of West Toledo.
Our new home provides much-needed space, including a large retail showroom, an open office and a large shipping department and warehouse. Today, under new management, we’re focusing on doing what we’ve always done best, which is to offer our customers the personal service they deserve and the quality products they need.
Thank you for taking the time to visit the Reger’s website today and allowing us to serve you. We’d also like to thank our past, present and future customers for their business and dedication to our family and company. We hope to serve you and the Church for years to come. Thank you and may God richly bless you!
